Building a Luxury Box Suite, Part 3

The Luxury Box Suite is complete.  It was moved to the Alliant Energy Center for opening day. Dan Duren of Duren Custom Builders built the box in five pieces, that are hooked to each other for stability once on site. Duren has experience building theater sets so his expertise and experience is what was needed to get the job done. Thank you to Dan for constructing this one-of-a-kind suite, and Chris Hohlstein of Tim O’Brien Homes for assisting with transportation and set-up.

Loading and transporting these fives pieces were very challenging.  Would forklift do the trick?  Will a trailer do, or is a semi needed?  (The trailer did not do!)  Each piece had to be transported separately, which made for a very long day.  However, leave it to a builder to find a way!  Here are some photos of loading the five pieces as well as transporting to the Alliant Energy Center.

The lower level seats about 30 people in theater style, and the upper level has soft seating and cocktail tables (pictures of completed set-up in a future post).

After making a list of about 40 options for names, it has been donned the Madison Area Builders Association Slapshot Suite.

If you’re interested in renting the suite, contact the Alliant Energy Center and get the details on reserving the Slapshot Suite.  It’s located right behind the goalie – great seats! (By the way, conveniently, a catering station is next to the suite.)
