Chad Lawler | Executive Director
Chad Lawler is an experienced and accomplished association, legal, and government relations professional who has assisted clients on local, county, state and federal issues.
After serving as MABA's Director of Government Affairs starting in 2016, Mr. Lawler was named Executive Director in 2018. During his tenure with the Association, MABA saw substantial growth in membership, revenue, and member and community engagement. Mr. Lawler has led the Association in a major workforce development initiative with the Boys & Girls Club, while consistently introducing new initiatives to modernize and diversify the Association and Industry. Mr. Lawler is a Director-At-Large with the Executive Officers Council (EOC) through NAHB.
He resides in Rome, WI with his wife, Kelly; son, Reid; and daughter, Avery.

Lisa Kratz | Operations Manager
Lisa Kratz joined MABA in July, 2018 as the Operations Manager. She comes to us with an extensive background in non-profit accounting and contract management.
Prior to joining us Lisa worked for the Wisconsin Partnership for Housing Development, a 501(c)(3) in Madison, WI, for over 23 years. As their Chief Financial Officer she provided all accounting functions for the organization and its subsidiaries, including financial statement preparation, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and participation in the annual audit. As their Director of Operations she managed down payment and rehab loan programs that provided over $55 Million to over 10,000 Wisconsin households, and consulted with many cities, counties, and states on their federally funded programs.
Lisa is a graduate of Edgewood College in Madison, WI with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Faith Barrett | Events & Office Associate
Faith joined MABA in July 2024.
She brings a wealth of experience in administrative support and program management, cultivated roles in non-profit work, the Marine Corps, and the Department of Health Services. She joins us part-time while pursuing her studies at Madison College.
Faith’s diverse background includes positions as a fitness trainer and manager at Anytime Fitness, as well as a birth doula, underscoring her dedication to enhancing community experiences and providing compassionate service. Known for her optimistic perspective, outgoing personality and passion for community initiatives, Faith brings enthusiasm and positivity to her work.

Patrick Hatlen | CTE Instructor & Workforce Specialist
Pat joined MABA in October 2024.
Pat joins us with 23 years of teaching experience and curriculum development, with a focus on high school economics and history, including Advanced Placement instruction in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.
Together, he and his wife, Jennifer, have three adult children: Jack, Charlie, and Joe. Pat’s wife has called him a “habitual remodeler,” for better or for worse. His interest in building, wealth of teaching experience, and commitment to the community, make him a stellar candidate for our new Instructor and Workforce Specialist role.
Pat’s role is to facilitate MABA’s continued partnership in concert with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County at the McKenzie Regional Workforce Center through career development and skilled trade opportunities for students in the community.

Ismail Chaoui | Government Affairs Intern
Ismail joined MABA in September 2024.
Ismail is a senior at UW-Madison graduating in the spring. He is currently studying International Studies. With a keen interest in local development and policy, Ismail brings valuable insight from his academic background in public policy and planning.
Ismail’s passion for community development and government relations makes him an excellent addition to the MABA team. He plays an integral role in advocating for housing and building policies that align with MABA's goals. Through collaboration with local government municipalities, Ismail is working on ensuring MABA's voice is represented in regulatory processes that affect the development industry in Dane County.
